FAQ — Livada SEO Connect
20 frequently asked questions about installation, SEO push, JSON-LD structured data, and licenses.
General questions
What's the difference with the Livada SEO plugin for WordPress?
The WordPress plugin installs directly on your site and modifies the HTML in real time. Livada SEO Connect — Shopify goes through Shopify's official API to write SEO data into your store. The end result is identical: clean, server-rendered HTML, read by Google and AI systems.
Does it work with all Shopify themes?
Yes. Layers 1 and 2 (titles, metas, alt text) are theme-independent — they modify Shopify data, not theme files. Layer 3 (JSON-LD) uses Shopify's App Embed system, compatible with all themes version 2.0 and above (Dawn, Debut, Craft, Sense, and all recent themes from the Shopify Theme Store).
Do I need to be a developer to use it?
No. Connecting your store takes 2 minutes (you click "Authorize" on a Shopify page). Activating JSON-LD takes another 2 minutes in Shopify's visual editor. No code required.
Does Livada SEO Connect modify my theme?
No. Layer 3 uses Shopify's App Embeds system, designed to inject code into the theme cleanly and reversibly, without touching your theme files. You can disable the block at any time from the editor.
Installation and connection
Why does Shopify ask me for permissions on themes?
Layer 3 (JSON-LD structured data) is activated through a Shopify mechanism called "App Embed Block," which requires access to themes. Without this permission, we wouldn't be able to inject the JSON-LD into your <head>.
Can I connect multiple stores with a single license?
Yes, depending on your plan. Solo = 1 store, Studio = 10, Agency = 50. Each connected store takes up one seat.
I changed my Shopify token. What happens?
Livada SEO Connect's OAuth connection doesn't use a token you manage manually — Shopify handles the token automatically. If you reinstalled the Shopify app, simply restart the connection from the dashboard.
Can the same store be connected to two different licenses?
No. A store is associated with a single license. To transfer it, disconnect it from the first license before connecting it to the second.
SEO Push (Layers 1 & 2)
Will my current descriptions be erased?
No, by default the push only fills in empty fields. If you've already written a product description by hand in Shopify, it's preserved. The "Overwrite existing" option is available if you want to start from scratch.
How long does a push take?
Between 10 seconds (small store) and a few minutes (catalog > 500 products). Shopify imposes rate limits on its API; Livada SEO Connect automatically handles slowdowns without losing data.
Can I customize the templates?
Yes. You can define your own title and description templates using the variables %title%, %sitename%, %vendor%. For example: "%title% by %vendor% — %sitename% Store".
Does the push work on product variants?
SEO titles and metas in Shopify apply to the product as a whole (not to individual variants). The push targets the product level, which is Shopify's standard behavior.
Can I run the push automatically every day?
Not yet in this version. The next version will include a scheduled push option. In the meantime, you can rerun it manually from the dashboard at any time.
JSON-LD structured data (Layer 3)
What is a JSON-LD schema and why does it matter?
JSON-LD is a structured data format that Google and AI systems read to understand your site's content. Without JSON-LD, Google sees text. With JSON-LD, Google knows you're an Organization, that you sell products, at what price, with what availability. This unlocks rich results (stars, price, Knowledge Panel) and improves the accuracy with which AIs like ChatGPT mention you.
Is JSON-LD rendered server-side or via JavaScript?
Server-side, by Liquid (Shopify's template engine). The HTML code that reaches the browser already contains the JSON-LD — with no JavaScript at all. Google and all AI crawlers (including those that don't execute JS, like GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot) see your data.
What is a Wikidata ID and how do I get one?
Wikidata is Wikimedia's free database (linked to Wikipedia). If your brand has an entry there, its ID looks like Q140007358. To check: search for your brand on wikidata.org and copy the identifier at the top of the entry (the "Q" followed by digits). If you don't have an entry, leave this field empty — the schema will still work, just without the sameAs link.
Does the Product schema appear on every page?
No, by design. Organization + WebSite are displayed on every page. The Product schema (with price, availability, reviews) is only displayed on "product"-type pages — which is Google's recommended practice.
Do reviews (star ratings) appear in Google results?
Yes, if your store uses a compatible reviews app (such as Shopify Product Reviews or Judge.me) that saves reviews in Shopify's standard metafields (reviews.rating and reviews.rating_count). The schema automatically includes them in the AggregateRating.
Is JSON-LD updated in real time when I change my products?
Yes. JSON-LD is generated by Liquid on every page load, using up-to-date Shopify data. Changing a product's name or price in Shopify is immediately reflected in the JSON-LD.
Does this JSON-LD conflict with my theme's own JSON-LD?
Themes like Dawn already generate their own Organization and WebSite. Having multiple JSON-LD blocks on the same page is valid under the schema.org specifications. Google reads all the blocks and consolidates the information. The Livada block is complementary because it includes the Wikidata identifier (sameAs) that native themes don't handle.
Billing and licenses
What happens when my license expires?
Data already written to Shopify (titles, metas, alt text) stays in place. JSON-LD remains active if the block is still enabled in the theme. However, you can no longer run new pushes from the dashboard until you renew.
Can I cancel at any time?
Yes. Cancelling doesn't delete the data already written to your store.
How long is the early-bird offer available?
The early-bird rate (–50%) is available for the first customers. It will be removed without notice once the launch phase ends. Early-bird customers keep their rate for life (renewal at the same price).
